Congrats to Mary and Ben!

Saturday, October 18th, 2008

Mary and Ben were married at Claxton Farm up in the mountains of Weaverville, NC just outside of Asheville. Mary and Ben are the outdoors type, so this was the perfect venue for them. Entertainment was provided by The Whitewater Blugrass Company, who put on a great show and also provided square dancing lessons for all of the guests. The leaves were just beginning to turn and a foggy mist rolled over the mountains the entire day.

On the way to the venue I could not pass up this barn without taking its picture…

Poison Ivy sure is pretty when its red.

Congrats to Melanie and Marcus…

Melanie and Marcus were married in Lake Lure, NC and held their wedding reception at the Lake Lure Inn and Spa. The ceremony took place in a park that had a great view of the lake. The weather was ideal, with highs in the mid 70s. The reception was split in between a dining room and a patio area. The food was great and the dancing went late into the evening.

Figuring out how to bustle is always a challenge, this image conveys that. Notice the bride's reflection in the mirror.

Leftover petals? Dump them. Funny moment captured.

I enjoy catching glances during the ceremony. I just think she looks great here, the sun acting as a hair light.

A simple image, but an important one. John is currently serving overseas.

Perfect symmerty here offset only by the bride being slightly askew. Not everyone will like this image, but I do.
