A hot n humid engagement session….

Sunday, June 14th, 2009

Rachael and Andrew are getting married in Greensboro next year, and decided to brave the Carolina heat and humidity for a recent engagement session.  They are self described as more outdoors than urban, so we decided to mix up their photoshoot with a bit of both.

And a special note to passers by who like to interrupt photo shoots and offer to be in them. I will take you up on your offer and you will be on my web page.

Congrats to Robin and Ryan!

Robin and Ryan held a private ceremony at the Mint Museum in Charlotte and later held their reception there as well. We decided to do an uptown walkabout for images, which is always a good time. Their reception featured amazing food including fried green tomatoes and sweet potato souffle (more weddings needs this!). The dancing went on late into the evening and the couple exited to the sounds of personalized cowbells for the guests, which was very fun and original.

Here are some of my personal favorites…

I also wanted to make mention of the wedding cake by Haines of For Goodness Cakes. I had not worked with her before. I have had my fair share of wedding cake and then some, and her cake was easily in the top two I have ever had. One layer featured fresh blueberries and was incredible.

I also wanted to share one of Robin’s Bridals from the Kilburnie Inn in Lancaster, a great place for photography. Robin chose to have this on display at her reception.

Congrats to Victoria and David!

Victoria and David were married at Saint Nektarios Greek Orthodox Church in Charlotte, NC. The reception featured plenty of dancing and festivities, and a large number of Tarheel fans and alumi (including the priest).

Here are just a few of my favorites of the day…
